The kids this year were a cowboy/sheriff, Princess Leia, and-since Camden had a football onesie- a football. I tried to take pictures of them together while Robert was at work and before we headed out to trick-or-treat at The Village. Micah didn't want to keep his hand out of his nose and Julia could have used a little help holding Camden, so this was the best we could do. Still cute anyway, right?
I also put out the candy out by the door early on Halloween to get ready for that night. I should have known Micah would find it. There was a toy bin in the living room that he overturned and stood on to get to the candy. After I took the bin and put it back in the playroom he dragged it back to the living room to get to the candy again. Good thing I put fruit snacks in the bowl for the younger kids because he was drawn to the fruit snacks, so he was satisfied with eating fruit snacks.
After we got back Julia enjoyed handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters at our door while Micah got to eat some of the non-candy stuff he got before going to bed.
We went Trick-or-Trick in downtown Claremont, "The Village." It is always a fun tradition around here. We tried to get there as close to the starting time as possible so it wouldn't be too crowded, and I think we succeeded. When we saw an area that had people lined up to get candy we just skipped it. As it was, we didn't make it around the whole Village anyway.
The plan was to just go until Camden got tired of sitting in his stroller because I wasn't going to carry him and chase Micah around. We made it about an hour with the help of the pacifier.
The last place we stopped was to wait in line for balloon animals. Julia got a flower and Micah got a dog, which he promptly took apart. As we walked back to the car Micah kept dragging his balloon on the ground and the larger of the two balloons that made up his "dog" popped. He didn't care, he just played with the other one. In contrast, as we were walking back inside our house the bottom part of Julia's balloon popped and she had a meltdown.
Camden the football.
And after he spit up on his football onesie, we put him in the "baby's 1st Halloween" onesie, that was way too big on him (size 6-9 mo.). After we rolled up the sleeves and put on some pants it didn't look too bad.
Ready to go trick-or-treating with Dad. They just walked around the block and that was plenty far for them. Julia said her feet were hurting from so much walking. Oh, and she also said she didn't want her hair in buns this time, so we just went with pig tails. I personally thought the buns were really cute, but she said they hurt her head.

Here is what most of the pictures looked like that I took earlier in the day!
