Whoohoo, I'm 30 weeks!

All you mothers out there, any suggestions on good baby books I should read?

No offense to Mandy, but the "what to expect" books are just about my least favorite out there:). They like to include scary things that will probably never happen to you/your little one.
The only post-pregnancy book I have is called "happiest baby on the block". Had some good info in, I liked it.
As for pregnancy/labor books, I have quite the collection of Natural Childbirth books if you're interested.

Well I read BabyWise, which is about getting kids on a routine with feeding, sleeping, and playing. (a little strict but the general idea helped me know what to do)
Then I was just given a book called Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child, it is basically the same concept I think as babywise (the friend liked this one better than babywise) and it looks like it goes up past toddler age, and getting through all kinds or sleep problems or routines. It looks really good!

Other than What to Expect, these are the only books I have read or will read so far. But blogs are great resources too since lots of friends have already been there and done that. :)

the only suggestions I had were the same as the Wheat Family. I haven't been very good as reading any of them to be honest though. You are almost there!!!

I have read all the books previously mentioned, I love to read. Plus I was so excited to be a mom, I wanted to read all I could. The best overall parenting book I have read so far was the Babywise book and the rest in the series. I realize that it might not be for everyone, but it really worked for me and my kids. The authors address more than just sleeping patterns. Best of luck finding something that works for you.

Ha! I was going to suggest Babywise and Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby too. Good books, I kind of implemented a blend of the two ideas. I've found that most parents just do what they feel is the best. But I still liked seeing what the theories were.

I would also suggest The Girlfriends Guide to Surviving the First Year of Motherhood-- it's more of a practical/satirical/amusing reflection on motherhood. I enjoyed it because I thought it was funny; but if you're looking for real knowledge or advice, this isn't the one for you.
